Cavallotto
Among the Barolo villages there is one that we consider our favorite, mostly because of its beauty, its unique vibe, and the people that live in it, who welcomed us like we were family since day one. Cavallotto’s home is in the Bricco Boschis, a beautiful estate rich in history and culture. The Bricco belonged to the Countess Juliette Colbert in the 18th century, who was the first one to understand the potential of the Nebbiolo grape. Burgundy and Bordeaux were already established at the time, and she, with the help of the enologist Louis Oudart, applied some french knowledge to it. Barolo wine was born and was gifted and officially presented to the Savoia family, with a incredible party that still now resonates in the valleys. Cavallotto wines today are among the best in world and we are lucky sometimes to get our hands on vintage gems like these. What would wine be without a story?
